Modi Unveils Gujarat Rail, Road Projects Worth Rs 35,000 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a large development programme in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The projects together are worth more than Rs 35,000 crore.

Three important freight railway sections were completed and connected to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority.

These railway routes are expected to help move goods faster and reduce pressure on Mumbai’s railway network.

A new railway line will connect remote and tribal parts of Alirajpur with India’s rail network.

More railway lines and highway improvements were also started.

Other projects include housing, water supply, a city office and a floating solar plant.

People in Vadodara reportedly filled all available event seats quickly, with more than 42,000 others placed on a waiting list.

Modi was scheduled to travel to Mumbai afterward for the Global Fintech Fest 2026.
