L-G Sinha: J&K History Would Differ Under Patel
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke at an event called the Sardar@150 Unity March in Vadodara, Gujarat.
He said that if Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had been in charge of integrating Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, the history of the region would have been different.
Sinha praised Patel for ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir remained part of India, despite not directly handling its affairs.
He also mentioned that Patel opposed taking the issue to the United Nations and believed in complete integration.
Sinha highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fulfilling Patel's vision of unity through various initiatives like 'One Nation, One Tax' and the abrogation of Article 370.
The march will cover 190 km over 11 days and will end at the Statue of Unity.
