Adani Defence Plans Rs 10,000 Crore Investment to Boost Indigenous Manufacturing
Adani Defence, a company in India, is going to spend a lot more money, an extra 10,000 crore rupees, to build more defense stuff.
They already make bullets and other things, and they've already spent 5,000 crore rupees.
They have a factory in Kanpur that makes small bullets, and they plan to make all the parts for bullets, like primers and propellants, right there in India by 2028.
This means they won't have to buy any parts from other countries anymore.
They are also building bigger factories to make bigger bullets and other equipment like drones and missiles.
They say the demand for these things has gone up.
Their goal is to make India strong by making everything they need themselves.
Adani Defence and Aerospace plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore in its defence and aerospace business.
The company aims for a 100% indigenous supply chain by manufacturing all ammunition components domestically.
New plants for primers and propellants are expected to be operational by 2028, completing the ammunition component supply.
Production capacity for small-calibre ammunition is currently 300 million rounds annually.
Expansion includes operationalizing large calibre plants by January 2026 and medium calibre plants by January 2027, alongside growing drone and missile capabilities.
