ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan Dismissed Over Misconduct Allegations

Karim Khan, a well-known international prosecutor, was recently dismissed from his role at the International Criminal Court (ICC) due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

Khan, who is British and 56 years old, has been involved in several high-profile cases, including those against former Liberian President Charles Taylor, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The allegations against Khan surfaced in October 2024, and despite his denials, an investigation by the ICC's governing body found him guilty of inappropriate behavior.

His supporters believe the allegations are politically motivated, while critics argue that his removal is necessary to maintain the ICC's credibility.

The dismissal was voted on by ICC member states and has triggered an election for a new prosecutor.
