China-India Relations: CPC Meets BJP Amid Tensions
A group of Chinese leaders visited India to talk with important Indian political leaders.
This is the first time in a while that these two countries have had such meetings.
In the past, their relationship was not good, especially after a fight in 2020.
But recently, they have been trying to be friends again.
They have started letting people travel between the countries more easily and have even restarted a special religious trip that was stopped.
The Chinese group is led by a high-ranking official and includes six people.
They are meeting with leaders from India's ruling party and a big organization related to it.
These talks are part of both countries trying to get along better after some tough times.
The Chinese Ambassador to India also joined the delegation, showing that both countries are serious about improving their relationship.
However, some people in India are worried because China is also making claims on Indian land, and they think the meetings might not be a good idea.
A six-member Chinese Communist Party delegation, led by Vice Minister Sun Haiyan, met with BJP officials in New Delhi.
This is the first high-level party-to-party meeting since the 2020 India-China border clash.
The meetings follow a thaw in relations, including a bilateral meeting between PM Modi and President Xi in October 2024.
Recent improvements include resumed Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage and restored flight connectivity.
The BJP delegation was headed by party general secretary Arun Singh, and the Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, also joined the CPC delegation.
