LPG Prices Cut, New 10‑kg Cylinders Roll Out, e‑KYC Deadline Looms
LPG is a gas people use for cooking.
In August, the price of the big 19‑kg gas cylinders went down by about Rs 200 in big cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
The small 14‑kg cylinders for homes stayed the same price.
People who get free gas from a government program called PMUY must finish a quick online check‑in by 16 August 2026 or they will lose the cheap price.
New lighter 10‑kg gas cylinders are being made available in many cities so people can get them faster.
If a home has a pipe that brings gas directly, they can only use that pipe and must give up their LPG cylinder within a month.
The rules for ordering and getting the gas stay the same, like using an app and giving a code when it arrives.
Commercial 19‑kg LPG cylinder prices cut by Rs 192–209, Delhi at ₹2,738, Mumbai ₹2,691.50, Kolkata ₹2,872.50, Chennai ₹2,906.
Domestic 14.2‑kg LPG cylinder prices unchanged at ₹942–₹968 in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai.
PMUY beneficiaries must complete Aadhaar‑based e‑KYC by 16 Aug 2026 or lose domestic‑rate eligibility.
New lightweight 10‑kg composite LPG cylinders (Indane XTRALITE NOW, Bharatgas Lite ZIP, HP Navya) will roll out to 25+ cities by mid‑August and 100+ cities by 15 Aug.
Piped natural gas (PNG) rule remains: households with PNG can have only one cooking gas connection and must surrender LPG within 30 days.
