IIT Kanpur Admits Olympiad Students to CSE Programs
IIT Kanpur is letting in five new students for the 2025-26 school year, but they're doing it in a special way.
Instead of taking the usual big test, these students got in because they're super smart and did really well in international competitions called Olympiads.
All five students will be studying Computer Science and Engineering.
Two of the students are from the International Olympiad in Informatics, and three are from the International Mathematical Olympiad.
To get in, they had to show they were amazing at these Olympiads, attend training camps, and meet the same academic standards as those who take the JEE Advanced test.
IIT Kanpur admitted five students through the Olympiad route.
All five students will join the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department.
The intake is for the 2025-26 academic year.
Two students are from the International Olympiad in Informatics Training Camp (IOITC).
Three students are from the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC).
