Tripura Finance Minister Denies State Responsibility for TTAADC Pension Dues
Imagine a group of retired workers from a special local council in Tripura, called TTAADC, who are not getting their pensions.
They are upset and are protesting.
However, the state's Finance Minister said that it's not the state government's job to pay these pensions.
He explained that if the local council itself hired these workers, then the council is responsible for paying them, not the state.
The minister also pointed out that the state government only takes responsibility for employees whose records have been officially transferred to them.
He mentioned that the state government has rules it follows and is not holding back pensions for its own employees.
Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy stated the state government has no responsibility for pension dues of retired TTAADC employees.
The TTAADC Pensioners Association is protesting, claiming 396 retired personnel have not received their pensions.
The Finance Minister cited that employment by the TTAADC administration makes it their responsibility to pay pensions.
He questioned whether the records of these employees were transferred to the state government.
