Bidhannagar Mela Utsav and Hastashilpa Mela Begin in Kolkata
Two big fairs are happening in Kolkata.
The Bidhannagar Mela Utsav is starting on December 1 and will run until December 21 at Central Park in Salt Lake.
It will have lots of stalls selling food, crafts, and other things, plus fun activities for kids and cultural performances.
The mayor of Calcutta will open the fair.
The Hastashilpa Mela is already going on from November 21 to December 14 at City Square in New Town.
This fair has even more artisans than last year, selling beautiful handmade items like saris, jewelry, and furniture.
Both fairs are great places to visit for shopping, food, and entertainment.
Bidhannagar Mela Utsav starts on December 1 and runs until December 21 at Central Park, Salt Lake, featuring 500 stalls and cultural performances.
Hastashilpa Mela is ongoing from November 21 to December 14 at City Square, New Town, with 5,500 artisans showcasing handmade goods.
Bidhannagar Mela Utsav will include food courts, play zones for children, and special days dedicated to senior citizens and sportspeople.
Hastashilpa Mela has improved infrastructure this year, with better spacing and lighting, though some vendors are still facing space issues.
Funds from Bidhannagar Mela Utsav are being used to build Rabindra Bhavan, a cultural center in Salt Lake, with a total project cost of Rs 41.9 crore.
