Maharashtra Mandates M-sand Use in Construction, Boosts Quality Control
Imagine builders usually use sand from rivers for building things.
But sometimes, there isn't enough river sand, or it's not the best quality.
So, Maharashtra decided to encourage builders to use a different kind of sand called M-sand, which is made in factories.
They made a new rule, like a special instruction, to help make sure builders use this M-sand.
The people in charge of different areas, called district collectors, will now have more power to check if the sand is good enough.
If builders don't follow the rules or use bad quality sand, they will have to pay a penalty.
This helps make sure buildings are strong and made with good materials.
Maharashtra government issued a GR to promote M-sand usage in construction.
The resolution grants district collectors ministry-level authority.
Strict penalties will be imposed for quality violations in construction materials.
The Revenue Department, led by Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, issued the GR.
The move aims to increase the adoption of manufactured sand in building projects.
