Mizoram Rail Route Clears Safety Inspection, Aizawl Connectivity Closer
Imagine a train track that will take trains to the edge of Aizawl, a city in India!
After a safety check, the railway line is ready.
Inspectors made sure the track was safe by testing how fast a train could go on it.
The new section of track is part of a bigger project that includes tunnels and bridges.
This railway is a big deal because it connects Aizawl better with other places, and it will make it easier to transport things and people.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) submitted the safety inspection report for the Hortoki–Sairang railway section.
The 33.864-km broad gauge section is part of the 51.38-km Bairabi–Sairang railway project.
The CRS conducted a five-day inspection and speed trials up to 110 kmph.
Freight and passenger trains can operate between Hortoki and Sairang at up to 90 kmph.
The Bairabi–Sairang railway project includes 48 tunnels and 55 major bridges.
