Iceland, Bhutan, Canada among top 10 freshwater-per-person countries

Iceland, Bhutan, Canada among top 10 freshwater-per-person countries

Some countries have lots of water for each person who lives there.

Iceland has the most freshwater per person in the world.

This is because Iceland has glaciers, lots of rain, rivers, and not many people.

Guyana and Suriname come next on the list.

Their rainforests and heavy rainfall give them plenty of water.

Bhutan gets water from Himalayan glaciers, snowmelt, and mountain rivers.

Canada is also in the top 10 because it has huge lakes, rivers, and glaciers.

Most of the top countries have high rainfall, forests, mountains, or big river systems.

Another big factor is having a small population, which makes water per person very high.

Still, having lots of water does not always mean everyone can easily get safe drinking water.
