Syrian Security Forces Detain Cousin of Toppled Leader Assad

Syria's security forces have arrested Wassim al-Assad, who is related to the former leader, Bashar al-Assad.

Bashar al-Assad used to be the leader, but he was removed.

Wassim al-Assad was sanctioned by the United States last year.

This was because he was in charge of a group that supported the former leader's army and was involved in selling drugs.

The news was shared by the state news agency.
