Delhi Police Registers Over 90 Cyber Fraud e-FIRs in Four Days
Imagine someone tricks you out of money online.
Now, if you tell the police in Delhi about it, they can quickly create a special report called an e-FIR.
This new system started on November 1st.
Before, they only automatically made these reports for very big amounts of money, like over 10 lakh rupees.
Now, they do it for frauds of 1 lakh rupees or more.
Each police station also has a special desk to help make sure these reports are filed fast.
In just four days, they've already made over 90 of these reports!
Delhi Police has registered over 90 e-FIRs for cyber frauds of Rs 1 lakh and above in four days.
The new system for automatic e-FIR registration of financial fraud cases commenced on November 1.
Previously, e-FIRs were automatically registered only for fraud cases involving Rs 10 lakh or more.
An integrated helpdesk has been established at each police station.
