NTA Extends JEE Main 2026 Deadlines
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has given more time for some students taking the JEE Main 2026 exam to check and confirm their identity documents.
These students had photos that didn't match the ones in government records.
They need to upload a special certificate with a recent photo signed by their school principal or a government officer by January 15, 2026.
The exam starts on January 21, 2026, and is important for getting into engineering and architecture colleges in India.
The NTA is also expected to release the city intimation slip by the end of the second week of January 2026, which tells students where they will take the exam.
The exam will be held in two sessions, with the first session from January 21 to 31, 2026, and the second session from April 1 to 10, 2026.
Results for the first session will be out by February 12, 2026, and for the second session by April 20, 2026.
Students who pass JEE Main can take JEE Advanced on May 17, 2026, to get into IITs.
NTA extends the deadline for identity verification for JEE Main 2026 candidates with photo mismatches to January 15, 2026.
Affected candidates must upload an attested identity verification certificate in PDF format via the link sent to their registered email IDs.
Candidates must carry a printed copy of the attested certificate to the examination center for physical verification on the day of the examination.
JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions, with the first session from January 21 to 31, 2026, and the second session from April 1 to 10, 2026.
