Nepomniachtchi Exits FIDE World Cup Venue, Criticizes Tournament Conditions
A top Russian chess player, Ian Nepomniachtchi, lost a big game in the FIDE World Cup held in India.
After losing, he quickly left the playing area and his hotel, saying he was surprised by the conditions.
He also mentioned that he wouldn't be sad to leave the place.
His opponent, Indian player Diptayan Ghosh, was very happy to win against such a strong player.
Other chess players heard about this, and some were critical of Nepomniachtchi's reaction.
Because he lost, Nepomniachtchi won't be able to play in the next important tournament, the Candidates Tournament.
This also means no Russian player will be in that tournament for the first time.
Russian Grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi was eliminated from the FIDE World Cup in Goa by Indian GM Diptayan Ghosh.
Nepomniachtchi quickly exited the venue and checked out of his hotel shortly after his defeat.
