SC Grants Cartoonist 'Absolute' Bail in Caricature Case
The Supreme Court has made the cartoonist Hemant Malviya's bail permanent.
He was facing legal issues in Madhya Pradesh because of some drawings he posted on social media that were critical of Lord Shiva, the RSS, and Prime Minister Modi.
The court made this decision after Malviya apologized.
The court also stated that Malviya must continue cooperating with the investigation and that the state government can ask to cancel the bail if he doesn't cooperate.
The court previously granted him temporary bail in July.
The Supreme Court finalized the anticipatory bail for cartoonist Hemant Malviya.
Malviya faced prosecution in Madhya Pradesh for his caricatures.
