PV Sindhu Reaches Arctic Open Quarterfinals, Set for Intanon Rematch
PV Sindhu won her match at the Arctic Open and moved into the quarterfinals.
She beat Japan’s Riko Gunji in two games, both by a score of 21-15.
Sindhu will next play Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon.
Intanon also won her second-round match, beating India’s Tanvi Sharma.
The two players have not met since 2022, and Intanon has won more of their previous matches.
Sindhu pulled ahead late in both games against Gunji.
Two other Indian players, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy, were knocked out in the first round.
Srikanth lost to Canada’s Brian Yang after winning the first game.
