Canada's Carney Wins Budget Vote, Avoids Election

Canada's Carney Wins Budget Vote, Avoids Election

Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney's first budget was approved by Parliament in a close vote.

This budget includes plans to spend more money to help with things like defense and housing.

Carney's party didn't have enough votes on its own, so they needed other parties to help them out.

If they hadn't passed this budget, Canada might have had another election soon.

But now, it looks like Carney's party will stay in power for now.

The other main party, the Conservatives, is having some problems of their own right now.
