Metal Stocks Fall as Crude, Rupee and Bond Yields Weigh

Several major metal-company shares fell on Monday.

These included Vedanta, Hindustan Zinc, Hindalco and Nalco.

Nalco fell the most, by nearly 4%.

The Nifty Metal index also dropped more than 1%.

The wider Indian stock market opened lower too.

Investors were concerned about rising crude oil prices.

A weaker rupee and high global bond yields also reduced confidence.

As a result, many investors sold shares, pushing prices down.
