Pride Hotels Plans ₹1,000-Crore IPO Amid Rapid Expansion

Pride Hotels Plans ₹1,000-Crore IPO Amid Rapid Expansion

Pride Hotels is a company that runs hotels in India.

It plans to sell shares to the public through an IPO by December.

The IPO could be worth about ₹1,000 crore.

The company currently operates 40 properties and has agreements for 32 more.

If those hotels open, its portfolio could grow to about 72 properties.

The new hotels will include wedding, business-event, leisure and pilgrimage properties.

Some IPO money may be used to renovate hotels and repay debt.

However, higher gas and electricity costs are reducing profits.

Pride Hotels is using wind, solar power and energy-efficient equipment to lower these costs.

The company is also concerned that licensing requirements can delay hotel openings.
