Jagannath Temple Administration Vows Action Against Illegal Land Transfers

Jagannath Temple Administration Vows Action Against Illegal Land Transfers

A piece of land in Puri was disputed by different parties.

The Board of Revenue decided that the land belongs to Lord Jagannath’s temple estate.

It said later transfers did not have the required approval from the Odisha government.

The land record will now be changed to show the temple as its owner and custodian.

Temple administrator Dr Aravind Kumar Padhee said illegal transfers and encroachments will not be allowed.

The temple administration plans to take legal action to protect its properties.

Officials are also working to recover other temple lands and resolve related cases.

More than 31,906 acres in 17 districts are already recorded in Lord Jagannath’s name.
