Mumbai's Sion Bridge Nears Completion as Byculla Flyover Progresses

Mumbai's Sion Bridge Nears Completion as Byculla Flyover Progresses

Mumbai is rebuilding an old bridge in Sion and constructing a new flyover in Byculla.

The Sion bridge is 112 years old and was considered unsafe.

Officials hope to finish its remaining work by October 15, 2026.

Central Railway is rebuilding the part over the railway tracks.

The BMC is rebuilding the roads leading to the bridge.

The Byculla project will connect the Sitaram Silam Y Bridge with the JJ Flyover.

It is designed to help cars move more easily through busy parts of south Mumbai.

Officials say both projects could reduce traffic and travel times.

They are also working to keep drivers and pedestrians safe during construction.
