India Sees Rise in Cancer Cases, Over 15 Lakh in 2024
In India, the number of people getting cancer is going up.
In 2024, over 15 lakh people were diagnosed with cancer.
This number has been increasing since 2019.
More people are also dying from cancer, with the highest number of deaths in 2023.
This is because doctors are getting better at finding cancer, and people are living longer.
The government is trying to help by promoting early detection and providing better care to reduce the impact of this disease.
India recorded over 15 lakh cancer cases in 2024, according to the Union Minister.
Cancer cases have been steadily rising in India since 2019.
Approximately 8.2 lakh cancer patients died in 2023, the highest since 2019.
Improved diagnostic techniques and increased life expectancy contribute to rising cases.
The government is implementing the National Programme for Non-Communicable Diseases to address the issue.
