IAS Officers Warned Over Property Details Filing
The government has told all IAS officers that they must submit their property details on time every year.
If they don't, they could face serious consequences like being punished or not getting promoted.
The officers have to send these details by January 31 of the next year.
They can do this online or by uploading a scanned copy.
The rules have been changed to say that only officers who send their details on time will be considered for promotion.
The government is happy that many officers are already sending their details this way.
IAS officers must file annual Immovable Property Return (IPR) by January 31 or face disciplinary action.
Timely filing of IPR is now mandatory for promotion consideration.
Filing can be done online through the SPARROW module or by uploading a scanned copy.
Non-compliance may lead to disciplinary proceedings and denial of promotion.
The communique was sent to central government departments and state chief secretaries on December 23.
