Pune Metro to Increase Train Frequency in Two Months
The Pune Metro is making trains come more often!
Right now, during rush hour (8-11 am), trains come every 7 minutes.
In a couple of months, they'll come every 6 minutes instead.
They might also make trains come more often during the rest of the day, from every 10-15 minutes to every 8 minutes.
This is to help more people use the Metro.
Some people think this is a great idea, especially during busy times, while others aren't sure it's needed when not many people are riding.
Pune Metro plans to increase train frequency on Aqua and Purple lines.
The peak hour frequency will increase from 7 to 6 minutes in two months.
Non-peak hour frequency might increase from 10-15 minutes to 8 minutes.
The goal is to reduce peak hour headway to 5 minutes eventually.
Commuters have mixed opinions on the changes.
