EFG International Reports Higher Profit Amid Dollar Challenges
A Swiss bank called EFG made a lot more money in the first half of the year, about 36% more than before.
However, the value of its assets went down because the US dollar became weaker.
The bank's boss is worried about this and about interest rate cuts.
They're trying to become more efficient.
The bank also plans to buy back some of its own shares.
The main owners of EFG are the Latsis family from Greece.
The bank is also looking to buy other smaller companies to help it grow.
EFG International's net profit increased by 36% in the first half of the year.
The weakening US dollar eroded the value of EFG's assets by 11.7 billion Swiss francs.
Revenue-generating assets decreased by 2% to 162.3 billion francs.
EFG plans to repurchase 9 million shares by the end of July 2026.
The bank is mindful of challenges, including US dollar weakness and expected interest rate cuts.
