Automated Doors Tested on Mumbai Local Trains
Mumbai's local trains are getting new automated doors!
These doors will open automatically when the train stops and won't close if something is blocking them, like someone standing on the edge.
Tests are underway to make sure they work safely.
The plan is to add these doors to all new trains, and existing trains will be updated by December 2025.
This change aims to prevent accidents and make train travel safer for everyone.
Automated doors are being tested on Mumbai local trains at Kurla car shed.
The doors will open automatically when the red light is on and won't close if someone is on the footboard.
Railway Minister announced the launch of automated doors by December.
All new trains will have closed doors, and existing trains will be retrofitted.
The decision was prompted by passenger safety concerns and a high number of deaths and injuries.
