Government Transfers Crop Insurance Claims to 35 Lakh Farmers

The Indian government is helping farmers by giving them money for crop insurance.

Recently, about ₹3,900 crore was given to 35 lakh farmers to help pay for damage to their crops.

This money comes from the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

Farmers now get help even if just one farmer's crops in a village are ruined, a change from before.

Since 2016, the government has given out a large amount of money, ₹2.12 lakh crore, through this insurance program.

Also, the government makes fertilizers cheaper for farmers by providing subsidies.
