BCI Chief Rejects Financial Allegations, Challenges Co-Chairman to Prove Them

The Bar Council of India is facing a dispute between its chairman and co-chairman.

YR Sadasiva Reddy accused Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra of financial and administrative wrongdoing.

He alleged that Rs 150 crore was moved to a private trust connected to Mishra.

Reddy also said some law colleges were asked for large contributions when seeking approval or renewal.

He asked Mishra to resign within 15 days.

Mishra rejected the allegations and said the council’s accounts are audited every year.

He challenged anyone to prove financial irregularities and promised to step down if they did.

Mishra also said political opponents were behind the accusations.
