Doctors Save 14-Day-Old Newborn After Emergency Stomach Surgery

A 14-day-old baby became very sick and could not keep food down.

The baby was dehydrated and vomiting.

Doctors found that a condition called hypertrophic pyloric stenosis was blocking the exit from the stomach.

The baby was treated at Aster Narayanadri Hospitals in Tirupati.

Pediatric surgeon Dr Prasanna Venkatesh performed emergency surgery.

Anaesthesiologist Dr Srikanth helped during the operation.

The baby recovered in the hospital’s Level III NICU.

The infant later began feeding normally again.
