Jaipur Mandates Pet Registration to Combat Rabies

Jaipur Mandates Pet Registration to Combat Rabies

The Jaipur Municipal Corporation has made it mandatory for pet owners to register their dogs and cats by September 30.

This is to help make Jaipur rabies-free and keep pets and people safe.

If pet owners don't register their pets, they will have to pay a fine of ₹5,000.

The city has also made rules stricter for pet shops and breeders.

They need to register with the Animal Welfare Board of India and keep records of all animals they sell.

This is because there have been many dog and cat bite cases in Jaipur.

To help pet owners, the city is organizing a big pet carnival on August 2 where they can register their pets, get free vaccinations, and health check-ups.
