Madhya Pradesh Teachers Told to Finish Syllabus Before Census Duty
Madhya Pradesh has asked schools to finish teaching this school year's lessons by January 31.
After that, some teachers will help with Census work.
Those duties are expected to run from February 1 until the first week of March.
The order was sent to education officials across the state.
Schools are reportedly about halfway through the lessons, but some are further behind.
The department wants schools to adjust their schedules so students can finish the required work.
It also pointed to national guidelines for how many school days and teaching hours different classes should have.

The department cited National Education Policy guidelines of 200 or 220 annual working days and 800 or 1,000 teaching hours, depending on class level.
