Usha Uthup Electrifies IFFJK Finale With Bollywood Hits
The first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir ended in Srinagar.
Singer Usha Uthup performed at the closing ceremony.
She sang popular Hindi songs, jazz and pop covers, and Kashmiri songs.
The crowd sang and danced along with her.
Many people asked her to perform more songs.
Uthup ended the show with “Saare Jahan Se Acha.”
The festival also presented awards to several films and actors.
“Whisper My Name” won the Best Film award.
Usha Uthup headlined the closing ceremony of the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar.
Her performance included Hindi film songs, Western jazz and pop covers, and Kashmiri songs such as “Hukus Bukus.”
The audience, including many young people, sang, danced and gave Uthup a standing ovation.
Iranian film “Whisper My Name,” directed by Rasoul Sadrameli, won the Best Film award.
Amin Hayai, Tanya Maniktala and “Tasrufdaar” won the festival’s Best Actor Male, Best Actor Female and Best Film from J-K awards, respectively.
