Bengal Hospitals Observe Two-Minute Silence on RG Kar Anniversary

Bengal Hospitals Observe Two-Minute Silence on RG Kar Anniversary

Two years ago, a doctor who was working at a hospital in West Bengal was hurt and killed.

This made many people very sad and angry.

She was a postgraduate trainee doctor at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Every year on August 9, people remember her.

This year, all government hospitals in West Bengal stayed quiet for two minutes in her memory.

The silence was a way to honor the doctor and show respect.

A group called the West Bengal Junior Doctors' Front led big protests after her body was found in 2024.

On this second anniversary, the group held a free clinic for people who cannot easily afford medical care.

The clinic was held at Chitpur in north Kolkata to help underprivileged people.
