Tamil Nadu Universities Face Crisis Without Vice-Chancellors
Tamil Nadu has 15 universities without permanent leaders called Vice-Chancellors.
This is causing problems like slow decision-making and delays in research.
The government is trying to fix this, but it's taking time.
Some universities also don't have other important leaders like Registrars.
The government has asked other officials to temporarily manage these universities, but this isn't working well.
Everyone is waiting for the Supreme Court to decide how to appoint these leaders.
Until then, the universities are facing many challenges.
15 universities in Tamil Nadu are functioning without permanent Vice-Chancellors.
The situation is expected to worsen next month with two more vacancies.
Many universities also lack other senior administrators like Registrars and Controllers of Examinations.
Temporary arrangements with IAS officers and senior professors are causing discontent and inefficiencies.
The Supreme Court is set to hear a case on July 29 that could impact the appointment process.
