Jaishankar Recalls UPSC Interview During Emergency Revocation
Imagine you're taking a really important test to get a special job.
That's what the UPSC exam is like for India's civil service.
One of the people who got this job, Mr. Jaishankar, remembers his interview day: March 21, 1977, when a tough time called the Emergency ended.
He learned two big lessons: how to talk clearly when things are difficult and how some important people don't always know what's really happening.
Now, he encourages new workers to help build a better India by 2047 and knows the future involves things like AI and space.
He also stresses that representing India is a great honor.
EAM S. Jaishankar reminisced about his UPSC interview on March 21, 1977, the day the Emergency was lifted.
Jaishankar recalled the significance of communication under pressure and the 'bubble' in which important people sometimes live.
He stated the interview was like an 'Agni Pariksha' and a 'very unique' testing system.
Jaishankar emphasized the importance of contributing to 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047 for new civil service entrants.
He highlighted the coming era's focus on AI, drones, space, EV, and green hydrogen and India's role in the Indo-Pacific.
