Jaanvi Yadav wins gold at KIUG 2025
Jaanvi Yadav is a young and talented judoka from Delhi.
She won a gold medal in the women's 48kg judo event at the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 in Udaipur.
This is a big achievement for her, especially since she had to overcome a serious shoulder injury and a financial setback in the past.
Her father, who works at a courier company, supported her by breaking his fixed deposit and taking loans to fund her participation in international events.
Jaanvi has won several medals in the past, including a bronze at the previous KIUG and a silver at the Commonwealth Sub-Junior Championships.
She trains at the Ramvir Solanki Club in Dwarka and receives financial support from the Khelo India initiative, which helps her with training and competition expenses.
Her journey has been challenging, but her determination and her family's support have helped her succeed.
Jaanvi Yadav won the gold medal in the women's 48kg judo event at the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 in Udaipur.
This is her second consecutive podium finish at the KIUG, adding to the bronze she won last year in Guwahati for Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU).
Jaanvi's father, Uttam Singh, supported her by breaking his fixed deposit and taking loans to fund her participation in international events after a financial setback in 2022-23.
She has won multiple medals in the past, including a gold at the Khelo India Youth Games in 2021, a silver in 2023, and a silver at the 2019 Commonwealth Sub-Junior Championships.
Jaanvi overcame a serious shoulder injury and underwent surgery earlier this year to return stronger and win the gold medal at KIUG 2025.
