Maharashtra Names Tukaram Mundhe Secretary for MPSC Overhaul Committee

People seeking government jobs in Maharashtra have been protesting in Pune.

They want changes to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission, which helps manage recruitment.

The state government has created a committee to look at how the commission should be improved.

Tukaram Mundhe, an official who leads the Food and Drug Administration, will serve as the committee's secretary.

Former judge Dilip Bhosale will lead the committee.

Other members include officials and retired judges.

The protesters also want more jobs, more seats in an upcoming exam, and some cases against protest representatives dropped.

An NCP (SP) lawmaker welcomed Mundhe's appointment and said he hopes the committee can work freely.
