Over 300 BJP Functionaries Seek 12 Surat School Board Seats
More than 300 BJP workers want to compete for just 12 seats on Surat’s Municipal School Board.
The election will take place on October 9.
Surat’s elected city representatives will vote for the people who want these positions.
The school board manages about 365 schools.
More than two lakh children study in these schools.
Classes are taught in Gujarati, Hindi, English, Urdu, Odia and Marathi.
About 5,800 teachers work in the schools.
The board chairman said many new school buildings were started or opened during his tenure.
