Experts share best microgreen seeds and common mistakes to avoid

Microgreens are very small baby plants that people can grow at home in a tray.

They only grow about one to three inches tall before they are ready to eat.

It takes just one to three weeks for them to grow from a seed.

They taste strong and are very healthy and nutritious.

Many people in cities grow them because they need very little space and few resources.

Some seeds are easy for beginners, like radish, broccoli, mustard, peas, sunflower, and fenugreek.

Other seeds should not be eaten as microgreens, because tiny tomato, potato, eggplant, and pepper shoots have toxic parts.

Experts say to use clean seeds that have not been treated with chemicals.

After planting, keep the tray in the dark for a few days, then give the tiny plants light.

Water them just a little, and in one to two weeks they are ready for salads and sandwiches.
