40 Lakh Ineligible People Getting Rations in MP
In Madhya Pradesh, over 40 lakh people who should not be getting free food are still receiving it.
The government gives free food to people who register under the National Food Security Act, but they need to do a KYC (Know Your Customer) check to confirm they are real beneficiaries.
Many people did not complete this check by October 31.
The government is trying to fix this by November 30.
Some people who did not do KYC are young children, elderly people with unreadable fingerprints, or those who moved away.
However, there are also many fake names on the list.
Officials want to remove these fake names, but political parties sometimes stop them from doing so.
Over 40 lakh ineligible people are receiving free rations in Madhya Pradesh due to incomplete KYC verification.
The state has 1.31 crore ration cards, with 5.35 crore beneficiaries under the NFSA.
Only 4.94 crore people have completed their KYC, with the deadline extended to November 30.
Three groups identified as not completing KYC: children under 5, elderly with unreadable fingerprints, and people who moved out of villages.
Political interference is hindering the removal of ineligible and fake beneficiaries from the ration list.
