India Must Keep Innovative Ideas From Dying Prematurely

India has created many clever inventions.

One example is the Simputer, a small touchscreen device.

It was designed in Bangalore around the year 2000.

This happened before Apple focused on similar devices.

In 2001, Time magazine praised the Simputer as an important technology.

It was meant to help more people in developing countries use digital tools.

However, the Simputer eventually stopped being produced.

The example shows why India needs to help promising inventions survive and grow.
