Mahayuti Partners Agree Power Sharing, Joint Local Poll Contest

Mahayuti Partners Agree Power Sharing, Joint Local Poll Contest

Three political parties in Maharashtra are part of an alliance called Mahayuti.

They had argued for months about how power and government funds should be shared.

Now, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party have agreed to fight local elections together.

This is meant to keep their alliance united.

They also agreed to share control of state-run corporations.

The BJP will receive the largest share, followed by Shiv Sena and the NCP.

The shares will be divided in a 48:29:23 ratio.

A committee will finish the detailed arrangements within two or three months.
