Jan Suraaj Guarantees Seventh Pay Commission Benefits for Bihar Teachers
Prashant Kishor spoke at a meeting with teachers in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
He said his party, Jan Suraaj, would provide Seventh Pay Commission pay scales to all teachers in the state.
He said this would happen before the 2029 national elections.
Kishor also said the party would address problems faced by unaided teachers and make their status regular.
He wants statewide rules about assigning teachers tasks that are not teaching.
He said this could stop local officials from giving teachers such work arbitrarily.
Kishor also made predictions about the future of JD(U), a political party.
He said Jan Suraaj’s advocacy had contributed to increases in an elderly pension and a student loan limit.
Prashant Kishor said Jan Suraaj would ensure Seventh Pay Commission pay scales for all categories of Bihar teachers before the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
He said the party would resolve unaided teachers’ long-standing issues and regularise their status.
Kishor proposed state-level rules for assigning teachers non-academic duties, to prevent arbitrary orders by district officials.
He said that if Jan Suraaj candidate B. Mohan wins the Graduates’ constituency election, the movement would work to secure jobs for 10,000 educated unemployed youths.
Kishor predicted that JD(U) would weaken, become the BJP’s “B-team” or merge with the BJP, and said Jan Suraaj’s advocacy had helped raise the elderly pension and restore the Student Credit Card limit.
