Shivakumar Accuses BJP of Threatening Poor Voters’ Rights

Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said some people were trying to remove poor residents from voter lists.

He accused BJP and JD(S) leaders of being involved, but these claims were presented as his allegations.

He said his government had contacted the Election Commission and would protect people's right to vote.

At a public programme in Piriyapatna, he also discussed a service that brings government help closer to residents.

He said the programme had already received more than one lakh applications.

The government plans to monitor how quickly officials resolve those requests.

Shivakumar also described plans involving pensions, homes, farmers and young people.

These plans are intended to address residents' needs through government programmes.
