106 Maharashtra Tourists Leave Nepal After Fadnavis Intervention

Floods in Nepal stranded tourists from Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke with them and worked with other officials to help them return.

A group of 106 tourists from Nagpur safely left Kathmandu in buses.

They were to travel onward through Bihar and then take a train home.

Reports gave different names for the buses’ destination: Janakpur and Danapur.

Officials had earlier listed 114 Maharashtra tourists as stranded, with 53 confirmed safe.

The floods reportedly killed nearly 359 people and left around 910 people missing or unaccounted for.

Rescue workers are searching for people, moving residents to safety and delivering supplies.
