Indian Stock Market Introduces Pre-Open Session for Derivatives
Starting from December 8, the Indian stock market will have a new pre-open session for trading in equity derivatives.
This session will last for 15 minutes, from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM.
During the first 8 minutes, traders can place, change, or cancel their orders.
The system will then randomly close the order entry phase between the 7th and 8th minute.
After that, the system will match orders and confirm trades based on the equilibrium price.
The last 3 minutes are a buffer period to transition into the regular trading session.
Only limit and market orders are allowed, and all orders must have adequate margin to be accepted.
This change aims to make the market opening more orderly and efficient.
