India's Nuclear Regulator Approves Rajasthan Power Plant
Imagine a big construction project in Rajasthan where they plan to build four new power plants that make electricity using atoms!
The company in charge asked the government to approve this idea, and after checking everything carefully, they gave the go-ahead.
These new plants will use special reactors designed in India, and the government will keep a close eye to make sure everything is safe.
This project is a joint effort between two big companies.
AERB approved the construction of four nuclear power plants in Mahi Banswara, Rajasthan.
The plants will use indigenously developed pressurised heavy water reactors (PHWR) of 700 MWe capacity.
NPCIL sought consent from AERB for the project.
The project will be implemented by a joint venture between NPCIL and NTPC.
