Prada Launches Rs 84,000 Kolhapuri Sandals
Prada, a famous fashion brand, is making special sandals inspired by traditional Indian Kolhapuri chappals.
They signed an agreement with groups from Maharashtra and Karnataka to help local artisans make these sandals using old-fashioned techniques.
The sandals will cost about Rs 84,000 each, and 2,000 pairs will be sold worldwide starting in February 2026.
Prada will also help the artisans improve their skills through a three-year training program.
This is a big deal because it combines Indian craftsmanship with Prada's high-end style.
The Kolhapuri chappals have a special tag called a GI tag, which means they are very special and come from specific places in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The government of Maharashtra is happy because this shows that Indian products can be loved all over the world.
